Our client is a leading global provider of deliverable foreign exchange. Headquartered in the City of London, they are looking to expand their team in their recently established Amsterdam office.

The Junior Foreign Exchange (FX) Market Analyst will be mainly responsible for the analysis and interpretation of the economic changes and how those can affect the financial market.  


Job Profile for Junior FX Market Analyst
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Send out post-data release emails to sales team
  • Send ad-hoc charts and emails to salespeople explaining currency moves as requested
  • Produce weekly Buy/Sell arguments on our major currency pairs – EUR, GBP, USD
  • Write up the company morning report email to be sent out before lunch in Dutch
  • Conduct the lunchtime meetings in the absence of the Sales Manager
  • Write up ad hoc currency reports on request from sales/dealing team.  Line manager to have overall control over the GBPUSD, EURUSD and EURGBP reports
  • Managing the Analysis folder on the S drive-media coverage, buy/sell arguments, currency reports, Bloomberg FXFC forecast results and FX Week
  • Cover central bank meetings in the absence of the Sales Manager
  • Involvement in sales meetings as needed
  • Writing up you own ad hoc report on market developments
  • Analysis of global currency market
  • Analysis and assessment of macroeconomic strategy
  • Analysis and assessment of G10 central bank policy and the effects upon:
    • The Economy
    • Foreign Exchange prices
    • Clients
  • Global currency research and forecasting
  • Produce the weekly economic calendar


Candidate  Profile for Junior FX Market Analyst

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • MSc in Finance or Investment Management
  • 1-3 years of relevant market experience specializing in financial markets and media
  • Enthusiasm for and interest in FX markets
  • Passion for economic, political, and monetary policy analysis
  • Outstanding written and  verbal communication skills
  • Ability to form opinions and articulate persuasively
  • Good personal organisational skills including deadline and other time/task management
  • Public speaking skills
  • Commitment to the job and the different teams where there is daily contact
