Our client, a highly respected and extremely prestigious world leader in the oil and gas industry, is looking for a Sourcing Assistant to join their dynamic, multicultural and multilingual organisation in The Hague.


Job Profile for Sourcing Assistant
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Obtain, evaluate and maintain market data, trends and changes for commodities considered being strategically important to the parent company’s operations
  • Draft advice for customers and management on procurement and sourcing strategies
  • Support in identifying and developing suitable manufacturers capable of meeting the parent company’s requirements for strategically important commodities
  • Support supplier approval procedures and align with all stakeholders such as the parent company’s consulting services department and the company’s quality management division
  • Maintain SAP vendor master data, supplier relations database and tracking programs for potential vendors/manufacturers
  • Handle requests from vendors applying for registration with the company
  • Initiate qualification process for new manufacturers within SAP and track through to completion
  • Ensure delivery of regular and ad hoc reports to the company and parent company’s management (weekly highlights, Managing Director highlights, Board meetings, business plan, operating plan and focus items)
  • Draft advice for worldwide materials management and user organisations on current significant developments in the field of expertise


Candidate Profile for Sourcing Assistant

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Up to 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent, preferably in Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, Accounting, Legal, Procurement/Supply Chain, any engineering discipline, fully accredited or closely related field
  • In case not in possession of Bachelor degree, professional expertise could also been obtained through approximately 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Explorer, Outlook and SAP/ERP system
  • Computer literate
