Our international client, a world-leading organisation in the IT/Software market, is looking for an Academic Territory Channel Manager to join them.

The roles you will support are critical to the success of our client’s organisation.   

As an Academic Territory Channel Manager, you will embrace the region’s educational community and become an engaged contributor and supporter evangelising the use of the company’s technology and creating a virtual sales team of partner-based salespeople.

Job Profile for Academic Territory Channel Manager
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Build a strong commitment with the Server Message Block (SMB) Channel Champs in their geos to deliver on the Modern Classroom Go-To-Market (GTM)
  • Know and work closely with the Educator Center Overview (EDU) POD members to help identify partners to drive consumption. Agree with POD on which role will drive the partner engagement
  • Create a strong working relationship with the Common Data Service (CDS) Channel Champs in their area
  • Leverage the expertise of the newly launched SMB Partner Concierge Desk to serve partner escalations quickly and to resolution
  • Manage a portfolio of 20-25 education resellers/partners, or the number of partners in geo driving 80% of the business
  • Drive customer net new and renewal revenue via partners
  • Develop existing top resellers and expand the reseller network through competitive recruitment
  • Grow new channels for new products
  • Coordinate marketing programs through distribution
  • Manage lead distribution pipeline
  • Drive channel readiness through calls, webinars, events and 1:1 engagement
  • Handle channel communication through tools like Yammer
  • Implement Reach and Yield metrics with each partner in the portfolio (targets can be set locally)
  • Deliver and orchestrate Modern Classroom GTM direct to distributors, resellers and through to Surestep Ambassadors (where applicable)
  • Weekly reporting to the management team and the client’s industry Solution Manager
  • Report on major activities for top partner
  • Manage the territory of customers – keep track of peers (sales drivers) and follow up on leads
  • Build a partner network (get to know the right partners to match the customer demand)

Candidate Profile for Academic Territory Channel Manager

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Fluency in Dutch is advantageous
  • Working knowledge of the partner ecosystem
  • Experience in working in a call centre, distribution or reseller
  • High-level of comfort with technology and software. Experience with Microsoft products required (Windows 8, Office, OneNote, Bing, etc.)
  • Confidence and experience working on a phone with great telephone manner and able to think quickly with clear articulation
  • A sense of urgency with attention to data quality
  • Sales leadership across partners, field, and corporate team members
  • Passion for education – public sector in the Netherlands
  • Organisational skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Personable – ability to be quickly liked and trusted
  • Inclusive and collaborative – driving teamwork, diversity and cross-team alignment
