Job Profile for Accountant
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Work with accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Collaborate with International Sales and Finance team to achieve goals
  • Utilise the Customer Relationship Management program (CRM) to assist with accuracy
  • Be responsible for Management of International accounts receivable collections and payable
  • Liaise with customers, vendors, external accountants and tax agencies for accounting issues internationally
  • Tax, VAT, Source Deduction filing and reporting
  • Bank and credit card reconciliations of all entities
  • Be responsible for cash flow control and management
  • Prepare month and year end reconciliations, financial reports in a timely, accurate and effective manner
  • Analyse General Ledger (GL) accounts, investigate and report on variances
  • Review, update, improve company policies and procedures
  • Meet accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, prepare annual budgets, schedule expenditures, analyse variances, initiate corrective actions
  • Provide accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closings
  • Manage all government financial reporting
  • Perform monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain all employee commission claims, expense reports and bonuses
  • Support budget and forecasting activities
  • Collaborate with management to support overall company goals and objectives
  • Work with other departments to handle special reporting transactions
  • Monitor and analyse department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Develop and implement new procedures when required to enhance the workflow of the department
  • Provide training to new and existing accounting related staff as needed
  • Accomplish accounting department objectives by communicating regularly and accurately with staff and supervisor(s), planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing one’s own contributions/accomplishments, enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Manage all government reporting with regards to human resources and both collective pension and insurance plans
  • Support special projects as required

Candidate Profile for Accountant

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • Accounting Designation required or having extensive equivalent education and experience
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in financial operations and management
  • Strong Proficiency in QuickBooks & Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) or similar systems is required
  • Be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff within the organisation
  • Comfortable working with a diverse and international team
  • Be able to work both independently as well as within a small team
  • Have a feeling of responsibility for success with one’s own tasks as well as for the team and company
  • Must have a pro-active, dedicated and self-regulating working attitude
  • Have a passion for numbers, accuracy, initiative, and integrity
  • Ability to develop, implement and enforce processes and controls
  • Excellent organisational, multi-tasking, time management and problem-solving skills are
    a must
