Job Profile for Applications Specialist
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

            Customer Support:

  • Work with the client’s EMEA business partners and customers to investigate and resolve any company software-related issues within set Service–Level Agreements (SLA) timelines
  • Act as an escalation point to the 2nd line support team
  • Act as the primary support contact for one Enterprise or multiple Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) customers
  • Understand program code (.Net) to assist with problem-solving
  • Use SQL Server and SQL statements to assist with problem-solving
  • Read and interpret company’s and 3rd parties’ system (Windows and SQL server) error logs
  • Record all details of support calls into the client’s support system
  • Assist with fixing bugs found in the product
  • Recognise chargeable work and escalate to the relevant Accounts Director (Enterprise) or Regional Manager (SME)
  • Escalate potential up-sales to the relevant Accounts Director (Enterprise) or Regional Manager (SME)
  • Be on an on-call after-hours support roster (note: a separate allowance is paid for this)

Software Deployment, Training and Consulting:

  • Software deployment, training and consulting services for the client’s system on-site and/or remotely within EMEA
  • Analyse customer requirements and implement solutions within the company’s suite of software
  • Test the configuration to satisfy customer requirements
  • Ownership of project tasks; deliver through to completion
  • Provide prompt and accurate feedback for project tasks to customers and team members Provide end-user training on the client’s software to cinema and technical staff as required
  • Ensure timesheets are updated at the end of day

Software Development and Others:

  • Work on development projects, primarily using Microsoft SQL and Crystal Reports to deliver custom extracts and reports for EMEA customers
  • Prepare and deliver brown-bag presentations internally
  • Product expertise: become a subject matter expert in at least one of the client’s products
  • Carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of this position, as requested

Candidate Profile for Applications Specialist

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of any additional European language is a plus
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL Server, .NET, Networking, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Commitment to excellent client service
  • Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and customers and with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Fast learner with a high level of problem-solving ability
  • Willingness to act on own initiative, as well as being an effective team member
  • Able to work on several tasks and/or projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision
