Our client is the world’s largest provider of data analytics, delivered by consumers and professionals with more than 6,000 customers including market research, media and advertising agencies, consulting and investment firms, and large corporate companies.
They are looking to hire an Assistant Controller to join their office in Rotterdam.
As Assistant Controller you will be a part of the team that is responsible for the general accounting process for European business. This includes contributing to the monthly, quarterly, and annual processes of preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, as well other financial reports used to analyse trends (budget versus actual results).
Job Profile for Assistant Controller
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Responsible for the monthly/ closing files – for the Dutch entities
- Ready to work in a dynamic environment
- Help with the preparation of statutory annual reports and corporate income tax returns
- Assist in the adequate, timely and complete filing of an annual report, corporate income tax return, VAT return and other legally required reports and submissions
- Support the annual external financial audit
- Prepare diverse monthly reconciliation files: cash, payroll, taxes, accruals, prepayments, and other balance sheet accounts
- Put together cash flow forecast and ad-hoc reports as required by various stakeholders
- Guide the Working Capital team in coding transactions
Candidate Profile for Assistant Controller
- Must be fluent in English and intermediate in Dutch, both written and spoken
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics or Accounting
- Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Experience with preparing periodical reports and financial statements, ideally having worked in an accounting firm
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and D365 systems is an advantage
- Understanding and application of different accounting standards, including Dutch GAAP and US GAAP
- Good knowledge of MS Excel is required
- Proactive, strong communication and good organisation skills
