Our client, a World leader in process heating systems, is currently experiencing rapid growth due to global expansion. 

They are looking for a Business Development Manager, based in one of the following European countries – The Netherlands, Germany, UK or France, who will work with the company’s internal team across multiple manufacturing plants to manage projects from quotation/design stage to the purchase order/production stage, with main focus on the generation and growth of new and existing accounts. 

Job Profile for Business Development Manager
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • Map out the market and the key stakeholders within Europe
  • Drive business growth to achieve sales targets
  • Develop sales forecasts, territory potentials, territory analysis and collaborate with management in setting adequate sales quotas and goals
  • Work cross functionally with sales personnel for other business lines within the company to communicate with and about sales opportunities within the maker segment
  • Create, develop and maintain relationships with customers to better understand and achieve their needs in new construction projects
  • Responsible for managing customer accounts as assigned
  • Deliver product presentations and training
  • Develop and execute territory strategies, tactics, and plans
  • Assist Channel Manager with identifying, acquiring and onboarding of a dedicated distribution network for the market segment
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, representatives and distribution network
  • Negotiate sales agreements/orders
  • Provide feedback to Product Management and Marketing departments regarding product and marketing requirements
  • Manage assigned expense budgets

Candidate Profile for Business Development Manager

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Fluency in other language is a plus: German, French or Spanish
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience as a Sales Account Manager, Sales Manager, Business Development or other role with Direct Sales/Business Development responsibility
  • Experience with CRM is a plus (especially Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Experience in dealing with Commercial Construction Projects is a plus
  • “Hunter” sales mentality – able to help develop a territory from scratch
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Exceptional customer service skills, able to effectively initiate, develop and maintain multi-level working relationships with customer organisations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior teamwork and leadership skills across a multi-faceted organisation
  • Willing and able to travel up to + 50% of the time
