Our prestigious FTSE 250 client are global leaders in alternative asset services with offices in 20 prime financial locations employing 1,600 staff. They are currently expanding their Amsterdam office and are looking for a senior industry professional to join them in the function of Compliance Officer.

Job Profile for Compliance Officer
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Draft policy documents in relation to the local laws and regulations
  • Act as the primary contact for compliance within the Group Compliance team
  • Periodic design and review of the systematic integrity risk analysis in conjunction with management
  • Periodic design and test of the procedure manual in conjunction with management
  • Act as liaison for the implementation of the Group Policies within the Netherlands organisation
  • Provide reports on a regular basis and as directed or requested, to the required Board(s) as appropriate
  • Give guidance to the staff in relation to the execution and implementation of the internal procedures as defined in the Procedure Manual and the Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis (SIRA)
  • Create and/or stimulate awareness for the staff and management with regard to the compliance issues, which includes participation in the permanent education of the staff
  • Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program and its related activities to prevent illegal or improper conduct and manage day-to-day operation of this program
  • Act as the MLRO (Money Laundering Reporting Officer) within in the Netherlands
  • Act as the reporting officer to the supervisory authorities, such as DNB, AFM (Financial Markets Authority) and FIU (Financial Intelligence Unit)
  • Respond to alleged breaches of rules/regulations, policies, procedures, by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures

Candidate Profile for Compliance Officer

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Compliance and/or regulatory role
  • Additional qualifications relating to Compliance, AML (Anti-Money Laundering)/CDD (Customer Due Diligence)/ KYC (Know Your Customer) are desirable
  • Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders and regulatory bodies is essential
  • Familiarity with Dutch statutory laws, financial services laws, regulations, and standards, and understanding of risk management and performance improvement is mandatory
  • Experience with designing, discussing with management and reviewing periodically the Systematic Integrity Risk Analysis is advantageous
  • People management experience is preferred
  • An understanding of Risk and the interaction with operational processes to deliver consistent results is required
  • Knowledge of The Act of Supervision of Trust office is advantageous
  • Ability to motivate and influence at all levels
  • Be self-motivated and driven
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to influence and educate Senior individuals
  • Be able to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external parties
