Our international client, a world-leading organisation in the IT/Software market, is looking for a Critical Environment Facility Support Engineer – Electrical 3 to join their team in Middenmeer.

Job Profile for Critical Environment Facility Support Engineer – Electrical 3 
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support critical equipment to keep IT load available 24/7
  • Participate in incident bridge calls (locally and globally) and plan/use procedures to mitigate incidents and failures to minimise operational impact and maintain IT uptime
  • Oversee day-to-day work, while mechanical and electrical availability is maintained at the highest level
  • Learn and understand the working principles of data centres and electrical systems such as generators, transformers, UPS’s, and transfer switches (automatic and static)
  • Hands-on understanding of how equipment works and how to troubleshoot equipment, systems, subsystems and components independently within different disciplines
  • Understand, follow, and ensure safety and security requirements (e.g., job hazard assessments, toolbox talks), business processes and procedures to properly perform work in a safe, quality, and reliable manner
  • Assess and identify appropriate resources and equipment necessary to fully support Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) objectives
  • Maintain safe working conditions and escalate immediately when the opposite is observed
  • Consult colleagues in troubleshooting systems and problems
  • Grow through development in areas such as automation, electric equipment and mechanical equipment (air handling units, generators, water treatment plants, refrigerant cooling units, and safety systems – sprinklers, deluge, etc.)
  • Perform risk-mitigating steps, such as high voltage switching, switching off UPS’s, starting diesel generators, starting up water treatment facility, etc.

Candidate Profile for Critical Environment Facility Support Engineer – Electrical 3 

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • An associate degree or equivalent technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or higher education is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft productivity software, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams meetings
  • Data centre experience is preferred
  • Able to work 12 hours shifts, including shift assignments during non-standard business hours that may include evening, nighttime, weekends, and/or holidays
  • Proven ability to drive projects and analysis to closure in a collaborative and matrixed environment
