Their comprehensive portfolio consists of more than 400 products – contact lenses, lens care products, eye care products, ophthalmic pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter products, and ophthalmic surgical devices and instruments. Founded in 1853, our client has significant global research and development, manufacturing and commercial footprint with more than 12,000 employees and a presence in nearly 100 countries.

They are currently looking for an iSeries Application Developer to join their team in Amsterdam.

Job Profile for iSeries Application Developer
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Work within the ALC team, build strong relationships with the key stakeholders and team members
  • Report regularly and timely, and communicate with IT business partners
  • Determinate and resolute local issues within agreed service-level agreements (SLAs) 
  • Design and develop enhancements and new projects within agreed timeframes 
  • Provide support during the day and out of hours (on a rota) as agreed
  • Assist with regression testing, testing of changes, patches and enhancements
  • Support the functional team and other project teams and provide ad-hoc support for data analysis for business functions
  • Oversee change management activities to minimise the risk of business downtime
  • Comply with all corporate policies and procedures

Candidate Profile for iSeries Application Developer

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Must have a univeristy degree or equivalent
  • Document management skills are desirable, especially StreamServe or CoolSpools
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Be able to influence people at all levels and build genuine partnership relationships with key internal customers and stakeholders, be a great communicator 
  • Have a positive attitude and inspire confidence in others
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently whilst being a team player
  • Have structured working methods, excellent troubleshooting skills with a logical approach to work
  • Be able to work in a multicultural environment, multi-task and make things happen with a sense of urgency 
  • Resilient and resourceful – able to manage a large workload with a results-driven attitude 
  • Analytical and a lateral thinker with new ideas and perspectives to the situation
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and be adaptable
  • Flexibility to work beyond normal working hours when required 
  • Experience in IT commercial Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
  • Experience working in a logistics support team, in a controlled environment, including incident, problem management and change control
  • Working knowledge of RPG, RPG/LE, CLP, iSeries, Query/400, (Oracle) SQL
  • Competence in the logistics business
