As a Senior Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for taking on a higher level of activities and mentorship with no direct reports, improving accuracy and increasing efficiency.

Please note that for this role we can only consider freelancers and the maximum hourly rate that can be offered is €80.

Job Profile for Senior Payroll Specialist

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Mentor, engage and support members of the EMEA CPO team to ensure effective and timely processing
  • Understand the operational procedures and Payroll cycles, for the Netherlands
  • Provide guidance and support to the team on complext transactional elements. 
  • Oversee Payroll procedures and day-to-day activities, plan for the preparation, validation and reconciliation of end-to-end processes
  • Maintain timecards, regulatory requirement monitoring for the Netherlands, rate changes, direct deposit, advances/arrears, manual paychecks, and shift differential maintenance
  • Data entry into Vendor management Systems; PeopleSoft; APM/Microloon and Excel
  • Holiday leaves tracking and maintenance
  • Evaluate processes and procedural documents for increased efficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Assist in gathering user requirements for system enhancements and solutions

Candidate Profile for Senior Payroll Specialist

  • Must be fluent in Dutch & English, both written and spoken
  • 3-5 years of work experience in the Netherlands – focused payroll role
  • Full understanding of Belastingdienst obligations for Taxation and Social Security deductions for Employees and the Employer
  • Full understanding of StiPP/ASR/ABP pension obligations and reporting is a plus
  • Detailed knowledge of Working Time Regulations (WTR)
  • Experience with additional EMEA country payroll processing and/or AOP/Payroll Bureau exposure is a plus
  • Experience with payroll processing systems, preferably PeopleSoft or similar large-scale ERP
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve customer complaints, using pre-defined and creative solutions
  • Strong customer relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
