Our international client, a world-leading organisation in the IT/Software market, is now hiring a Surface Partner Technical Strategist to join their team in Schiphol.

The successful candidate is an experienced and motivated sales talent who will help customers realise the value of Surface in their business. If you are a proven talent with experience in hardware sales, you will take this product to new heights in a market with millions of passionate customers and billions of dollars in business.

Job Profile for Surface Partner Technical Strategist
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Be the Surface Technical Product Expert for the Western Europe Surface Partner and the Modern Workplace team:

  • Collaborates with local partner development managers to influence top regional partners (area-wide) in their adoption, sales and business offerings around new Surface products throughout the fiscal year, inclusive of resellers and distributors
  • Acts as the technical lead coaching expert for partner development roles in Surface incubation, aligning the team of inhouse field sellers and business leaders
  • Focuses on developing the Surface channel ecosystem and drives the modern deployment motion across the Reseller community in Western Europe
  • Actively drives the adoption of Modern Deployment with Autopilot and Zero Touch deployment and of Surface Hub including Virtual meeting rooms software and wider Modern Workplace motion
  • Delivers technical product briefings to customers (Business Decision Makers (BDMs) and Technical Delivery Managers (TDMs)) to drive the success of the new and updated Surface device portfolio

Be the face of the company and orchestrate a V-team of resources to solve partners’ technical problems and development:

  • Creates a relationship with the technical deployment community across all partner types in the Surface business
  • Solves customers and partners’ technical challenges by presenting the value of Surface devices
  • Helps to identify and diagnose technical and competitive blockers and respective solutions for sales opportunities. Overcomes usage decision blockers and engages with the right resources
  • Shares practical knowledge with partners to drive the sale, deployment, and adoption of the client’s solutions
  • Shapes current and future products, marketing strategies, and customer-centric ideas through feedback to sales, marketing, and engineering

Support customers to build their business and IT solutions based on the client’s technology:

  • Leads technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, proof of concepts, and pilots to explain, demonstrate, and prove to the largest customers the capabilities of the products and services, and how they can make their businesses more successful
  • Brings ideas to customers and engages with them to show our client’s technology differentiation, and guides them through the decision making to winning sales opportunities and usage scenarios
  • Works with partners and other team members and uses core tools, social connection tools, and AI-driven data
  • Shares knowledge with peers, learns best practices from others and stays sharp
  • Nurtures and expands sales, business, product, technology, and competitive knowledge and readiness
  • Participates in internal sales communities and in the broader industry through in-person events, online collaboration, community gatherings and more
  • Builds and enhances the technical acumen, sales, professional skills, and competitive readiness
  • Shares, learns and drives individual work that will result in business impact for the customers, partners and the company. Thought leadership from employees is encouraged
  • Drives the success of others through peer mentoring, knowledge sharing, and documentation of insights

Candidate Profile for Surface Partner Technical Strategist

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience is preferred
  • Additional training in sales, business or marketing is advantageous
  • 2-5 years of experience in Enterprise sales
  • 1-3 years of experience in Hardware sales
  • Exhibit outstanding operational excellence, including forecasting, healthy pipeline development, CRM entry and hygiene, opportunity management, and virtual team orchestration
  • Demonstrated sales and partner management experience, strong passion for building and driving a business, understanding of business and sales models
  • Proven success in influencing decision-makers, closing complex deals and technical understanding of devices and commercial requirements
  • Have strategic thinking and execution and a positive approach to problem solving, learning, and development of potential sales and business opportunities
  • Highly-driven person who consistently exceeds goals and expectations and has the ability, characteristics, and determination to compete effectively against skilled and diverse competition
  • Acknowledged for driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for technology and how it can enable individuals and organisations to achieve more
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, migrations, and device management
  • Technical experience with Enterprise design, configuration and setup of PCs
  • Experience with working in teams and cross teams, managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solutions/projects, solve customer and partner issues, leverage best practices and deliver results
  • Travel required: 50%
