Our client, a tourism marketing organisation supporting the South African government, is currently looking for a Trade Relations Manager to join their team in Amsterdam.

The Trade Relations Manager is responsible for developing the trade strategies for the hub, aligned to the global brand and trade strategy and ensuring management and implementation thereof.

Job Profile for Trade Relations Manager
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Develop, consolidate and implement a trade engagement initiatives plan
  • Identify and negotiate Joint Marketing Initiatives with travel and/or non-travel entities
  • Manage briefing process of trade activities to the hub marketing team
  • Partner with trade-in relevant markets to achieve business objectives
  • Manage signed contracts are filed and accessible and implement initiatives according to contract deliverables
  • Handle goals and outputs set for incentive houses/tour operators/travel agents/non-travel companies in terms of the Joint Marketing Agreement
  • Analyse all trade engagements results to reflect the effectiveness and share learnings from engagements with stakeholders
  • Manage the deals page of the website and check regularly the trade website for relevance and update the digital team
  • Provide updates for the website to Africa Marketing/Communications Manager quarterly
  • Send monthly reports to Line Manager within required deadlines
  • Arrange Familiarisation trips and co-ordinate Trade Toolkit
  • Develop relationships with leisure and business trade and South African Post Offices (SAPOs)
  • Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for assigned markets
  • Train and educate the trade and the South African Post Offices (SAPOs) for the relevant markets
  • Handle sales calls; compile and manage budgets
  • Content provision to ensure leisure/business for the trade and the relevant South African Post Offices (SAPOs)

Candidate Profile for Trade Relations Manager

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Trade/Trade Relations/Marketing/Communications
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in Trade, Trade Relations, Marketing Or Sales
  • Know the relevant legislation and regulatory requirements namely, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPI Act), Public Financial Management and Administration (PFMA)
  • Understand the Treasury Regulations and Frameworks on performance information and strategic plans
  • Knowledge of project management, financial management, people management
  • Negotiation, analytical, communication, creative, decision-making, organisational skills
  • Know how to handle: process improvement, people development, innovation, customer service orientation
