Description

Our client is a global outsourcing provider of integrated supply chain services associated with maintenance, repair and overhaul activities in large manufacturing facilities. They partner with leading multinational organisations, providing expert on-site solutions and fostering strong relationships with both clients and suppliers through effective communication and exceptional service. 

Currently, they are looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team in Ljubljana, Slovenia. 

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and procuring engineering, facility, and manufacturing spare parts and services, negotiating commercial terms, and driving cost reductions. They will serve as a customer-facing liaison with maintenance and technical teams, leveraging knowledge of product groups and domestic and European supply chains.

Job Profile for Buyer
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Respond to purchase requisitions for ad-hoc (spot buy) and inventory-controlled items on time
• Source and procure engineering, facilities, and manufacturing equipment, spare parts and services
• Raise and process purchase orders accurately within the company system
• Expedite order deliveries and maintain up-to-date delivery promise dates in the system
• Ensure on-time delivery of goods through effective supplier monitoring and performance management
• Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives through price negotiations or approved product substitutions
• Track and report cost savings accurately within the company system
• Resolve non-conforming delivery issues and coordinate returns for credit or replacement
• Resolve invoice queries
• Ensure company reports are maintained and delivered weekly on time
• Keep hands-on support of onsite warehouse operations, including receiving, system receipting, internal delivery, stock management and shelf-life monitoring

Candidate Profile for Buyer

• Must be fluent in Slovene and English, both written and spoken
• Good knowledge of engineering, maintenance, and factory consumables supply chains (domestic and European)
• Experience working in demanding manufacturing environments where continuity of production is critical
• Knowledge of the INCOTERMS application
• Strong negotiation skills
• Articulate, numerate, and systems-literate
• Understanding of inventory control processes
• Proven ability to identify and execute cost-saving initiatives, including price reductions, approved product substitution, and product standardisation
