Description
Our client is a global engineering services provider specialising in the maintenance and optimisation of industrial gas turbines used in power generation and the energy sector. With a focus on major OEM technologies, they deliver comprehensive field services, inspections, and overhauls to clients worldwide.
They are now seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Paisley, Scotland.
In the role, you will support all aspects of the business requiring mechanical-engineering input, working in accordance with the Health, Safety, and Environmental rules, while ensuring that all activities align with the company’s quality procedures and objectives.
Job Profile for Senior Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Prepare proposals and review tender specifications
- Create and check tender and contract documentation, including drawings, schematics, specifications, parts lists, technical descriptions and supporting documents
- Coordinate technically with vendors and subcontractors, including attending meetings, inspections and tests
- Plan projects and support technical aspects of commercial discussions with customers and suppliers
- Develop models, drawings and specifications for gas turbine components and assemblies
- Provide technical support during gas turbine overhauls and undertake site secondments as required
- Prepare installation procedures, method statements and risk assessments
- Respond to internal and external technical enquiries
- Review and action production concession requests and non-conformance reports
- Address repair process issues and support development activities
- Conduct root cause analyses in collaboration with field teams and customer representatives
- Carry out site surveys as required
Candidate Profile for Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Degree in mechanical, production or manufacturing engineering
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Ability to analyse, solve and communicate complex technical problems and their solutions
