They are now looking for a Freelance Head of Accounting & Reporting to join their team remotely. 

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing all accounting functions for multi-platform e-commerce operations.

Job Profile for Freelance Head of Accounting & Reporting
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Consolidate and reconcile transactions from multiple bank accounts, entities, currencies, and jurisdictions
• Maintain accurate financial records across all business activities and platforms
• Ensure completeness and integrity of financial data from banks, payment processors, and sales channels
• Develop and maintain a standardised transaction categorisation framework across all entities
• Design, build, and maintain high-level management reporting packages
• Produce consolidated reports on revenue, costs, profitability, and cash flow
• Develop dashboards to monitor monthly performance, trends, and key business drivers
• Analyse financial performance across business lines, including: e-commerce, online courses, China warehouse operations, and affiliate business
• Deliver profitability analysis by product, channel, activity, and business units
• Provide regular and ad-hoc financial analysis to support management decisions
• Lead the implementation and optimisation of Odoo or recommend and evaluate alternative ERP and accounting solutions where appropriate
• Integrate bank feeds, payment processors, marketplaces, and CSV-based data sources into financial systems
• Design and implement automated reporting workflows to reduce manual intervention
• Establish scalable financial processes capable of supporting increasing transaction volumes
• Improve the reporting accuracy, efficiency, and transparency

Candidate Profile for Freelance Head of Accounting & Reporting

• Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial reporting, or Business Analytics roles
• Minimum of 2 years of experience leading finance transformation, reporting, or financial systems projects
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and management reporting
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including complex modelling and data analysis
• Professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA, or equivalent, is preferred
• Knowledge of international VAT, sales tax, and multi-jurisdiction compliance requirements is a plus
• Proven experience managing financial reporting for multi-entity and multi-currency businesses
• Experience in e-commerce, online marketplaces, logistics, digital products, or related industries
• Experience working with ERP and accounting systems such as Odoo, NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, SAP Business One, or similar
• Demonstrated experience integrating financial data from multiple sources including banks, payment processors, e-commerce platforms, and operational systems
• Experience building management dashboards, KPI frameworks, and executive reporting packages
• Strong understanding of cash flow management, profitability analysis, and business performance measurement
• Experience working with Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Stripe, PayPal, Wise, and other financial platforms
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
• Strategic thinking and commercial awareness
• Ability to identify business opportunities and operational inefficiencies
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
