Description

Our client is a highly respected and extremely prestigious global leader in the integrated energy and chemical industry.

Currently, they are looking for a Finance Governance and Risk Control Supervisor to join their dynamic, multicultural organisation in The Hague. 

In the role, you will be responsible for internal control (including ICFR and SOX), governance, policies and procedures, as well as managing and developing a team of professionals. You will take the lead in the day-to-day activities, solving issues, and implementing procedures, controls and process improvements.

Job Profile for Finance Governance and Risk Control Supervisor
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supervise the daily activities of the Governance Risk and Controls (GRC) team
  • Plan and schedule the GRC work to maintain a timely and orderly flow of activities
  • Develop and maintain policies, frameworks, and procedures that align with corporate governance standards
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the organisation to safeguard its operations and assets
  • Design, implement, and monitor internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure operational efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and industry standards through audits, reviews, and training programs
  • Prepare reports for senior management, board and other stakeholders on risk assessments, control effectiveness, and compliance status
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address control gaps, improve processes, and enhance organisational resilience
  • Review detailed procedures and policies and revise office manuals and management guides
  • Assist with coordination of and provide support to internal audits and ensure adequate and timely follow-up

Candidate Profile for Finance Governance and Risk Control Supervisor

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Economics or a related field, combined with a Post Master’s education (RA, CPA OR ACCA)
  • 10 + years of experience in a relevant international corporate finance environment in positions with progressively more responsibilities including supervisory accountabilities
  • Strong stakeholder focus and quality orientation
  • Natural ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
  • Demonstrated networking and people development skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset
