Our client is a highly respected and extremely prestigious global leader in the integrated energy and chemical industry.

Currently, they are looking for a Finance Governance Analyst to join their dynamic, multicultural, and multilingual organisation in The Hague.

Job Profile for Finance Governance Analyst
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the governance framework
  • Act as the custodian of the governance framework, including the Management Guide, Office Manual and all committee charters across the group and lead periodical reviews of governance framework documents
  • Review detailed procedures and policies and revise office manuals and management guides
  • Ensure compliance with the steering documents and is responsible for continuous improvement initiatives to develop a corporate governance process
  • Support different stakeholders through corporate governance analysis of group companies
  • Verify decision-making and risk-taking procedures, in the form of limits (tolerances), by management, and defined per risk appetite, are strictly complied with
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the various governing agreements to ensure that the company’s  processes comply with the corporate steering documents
  • Review detailed procedures and guidelines
  • Conduct a review of company finance and accounting guidelines and office manual
  • Become a focal point of contact within the company’s governance issues
  • Align and seek corporate legal organisations’ recommendations on legal issues facing or raised by affiliates’ affairs
  • Identify Corporate Governance issues, coordinate input from across the company (i.e. Legal, Finance, etc.), and develop recommendations on how the issues should be addressed
  • Ensure alignment of policies with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
  • Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in ad hoc tasks relative to Governance and/or Risk
  • Assist with coordination of and provide support to internal audits and ensure adequate and timely follow-up
  • Draft Board presentations
  • Support the Governance, Risk and Controlling departments

Candidate Profile for Finance Governance Analyst

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting is a must
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5-8 years experience in an accounting or similar role is a must
  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant international corporate governance role
  • Experience in compliance reporting and corporate governance including development and reviewing policy and regulatory change
  • An understanding of governance planning and monitoring
  • Familiar with risk management frameworks, identifying and managing risk and related controls
  • Strong stakeholder focus and quality orientation
  • Continuous improvement mindset and self-management of own workload
  • Excellent in analytical and conceptual thinking
  • Ability to apply critical reasoning to bring clarity and insight
  • Effective written communication skills – prepare documents, reports, data analysis and recommendations that are easily understood
