Our client, a highly respected and extremely prestigious global leader in the integrated energy and chemical industry, is looking for a Strategic Communications Senior Advisor to join their dynamic, multicultural and multilingual organisation in The Hague.
In the role, you will support the Strategic Communications Supervisor in implementing existing activities under the European political intelligence and policy analysis workstream, working in close alignment with the Operational Communications and Corporate Citizenship teams.
Job Profile for Strategic Communications Senior Advisor
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Serve as a Senior Advisor and Deputy for Strategic Communications Supervisor, when required
- Monitor and analyse EU and UK policy, responsible for identifying and analysing potential risks and opportunities in the area of stakeholder engagement and management
- Provide input to planned internal and external communications activities, ensuring all partnerships, citizenship programs, sponsorships and other brand-related activities and engagement campaigns across European markets are aligned with the relevant policies in the EU and UK
- Advice on public and policy-makers perceptions, its operations and strategy in the European markets and identify ways of raising brand awareness, products and services, maintaining a positive image of the company and building valuable ties with key stakeholders and members of the local community
- Produce and distribute key deliverables (weekly notes and monthly reports)
- Develop and sustain relationships with agencies supporting the workstream
- Maintain relevant stakeholder and policy databases and distribution lists
- Prepare internal briefings and presentations
- Conduct reviews on planned external communications and relevant internal documentation
Candidate Profile for Strategic Communications Senior Advisor
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Good command of an additional European language is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a similar discipline
- 7+ years of proven experience and domain expertise in corporate communications and European policy analysis, either in-house or at a strategic communications consultancy
- Advanced or professional qualifications or in-depth practical experience in Public Affairs, Communications, Public Policy, Government Affairs, Sustainability, or related field
- Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, and Fuels is preferred
- Experience in the areas of energy transition, sustainability (ESG) and European advertising standards is an advantage
- Excellent communication skills
