Description

Our client, a tourism marketing organisation supporting the South African government, is currently looking for a Marketing and Communications Officer to join their team in Amsterdam.

Job Profile forMarketing and Communications Officer
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure action plans are created on time for projects, with SMART objectives and deliverables
  • Implement agreed projects according to set requirements
  • Communicate with stakeholders and agree on outcomes
  • Obtain budget votes and relevant information before implementing projects
  • Assist Project Managers to successfully execute business plan objectives
  • Handle special projects aimed at improving project management, reporting, stakeholder satisfaction and internal communication
  • Disseminate relevant information or marketing collateral to relevant stakeholders, trade, media, partners and clients at agreed intervals and upon request
  • Market visits (tactical markets), as per requirements of projects or at the discretion of the Project Manager or Hub Head to execute business plan objectives
  • Maintain sound query resolution and ensure regular client feedback to improve customer satisfaction
  • Provide events support as per the requirements of the projects or at the discretion of the Project Manager or Hub Head to execute business plans
  • Maintain regular communication with agencies and suppliers to ensure invoices are paid timeously as per agreed process and procedures
  • Liaise with agencies or suppliers, and manage printing and distribution of marketing collateral 
  • Manage invoices and documents as per the agreed process and procedure with agencies or supplier
  • Compile reports, minutes, presentations, spreadsheets and related material for report or preparation for meetings or events at agreed intervals
  • Provide marketing, logistical and other administrative support for team meetings, business planning, conferences, workshops, interviews, etc.
  • Co-ordinate all logistics of events i.e. business travel, accommodation, subsistence and travel allowance and all required registrations for project team members in-country
  • Maintain an accurate filing system for correspondence to support projects from the Benelux region
  • Ensure seamless and effective communication within the Northern Europe Hub and support the Hub Head for any internal communication requirements, particularly around core business plan deliverables
  • Ensure that important internal communication is responded to timeously
  • Record appointments accurately
  • Information to be available on request
  • Compile and update the database as per meetings and other engagements that occur

Candidate Profile for Marketing and Communications Officer

  • Must be fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • Relevant diploma or degree (minimum NLQF 5 or higher) in PR, Marketing, Tourism Management or equivalent
  • 2-3 years’ collective working experience
  • Compliance with policies in line with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements namely PFMA, Treasury Regulations and Frameworks on performance information and strategic plans
  • Understanding the fundamentals of marketing, internal and external communication, database, management and stakeholder management
  • Knowledge in business administration, correspondence, filing and typing
  • Familiarity with business and tourism in the Benelux region
  • Understanding project management
  • Knowledge of government priorities and imperatives
  • Understanding performance monitoring, evaluation and reporting frameworks, systems and processes
  • Knowledge of all Public Service systems
  • Familiarity with communications and information management legislative requirements
