Our international client, one of the world’s foremost managing consulting firms, is now hiring a Corporate Accountant to join their team in Amsterdam. 

In the role, you be responsible for the review of applicable accounting data on leases, and the review of both the classification and accounting transactions in a lease management system (FinQuery) based on IFRS 16. Additionally, you will also be responsible for carrying out specific monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes like general accounting, financial reporting, and payroll review/processing.

Job Profile for Corporate Accountant
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Assist in month-end closing of general ledger, focusing on leases and fixed asset accounting, including preparation and posting of appropriate journal entries
  • Responsible for the key control of capturing all new leases or lease updates on a timely basis and preparing lease footnote schedules
  • Maintain balance sheet reconciliations as needed
  • Produce accurate monthly and quarterly reports for the Firm
  • Analyse and review financial and business information effectively to extract useful business insights
  • Assist external auditors with information requests
  • Participate in miscellaneous finance-related projects as needed
  • Maintain and improve current procedures

Candidate Profile for Corporate Accountant

  • Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting is mandatory
  • 3–5 years experience in a similar role within a multi-national environment
  • Knowledge of IFRS is required
  • Experience using Workday, and FinQuery (previously LeaseQuery) is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a positive solutions-oriented mindset
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to proactively work with other departments, colleagues, and external auditors
  • Able to prioritise tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Customer-oriented
  • Hands-on mentality
  • Self-starter who is self-disciplined with tremendous attention to detail
