Our international client is a world-leading organisation in the Oil and Gas industry, that specialises in the development, engineering, and operation of some of the largest global industrial gas projects.
They are now looking for a Subcontract Specialist to join their talented team in The Hague to support ongoing projects based in Germany, including change, order management, and claims development/negotiation.
Job Profile for Subcontract Specialist
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Work with global product teams (Engineering, Technology, Commercial Product Management) to support business and functional organisation in achieving goals
- Contract administration for ongoing projects, including change order management, claims, development and negotiation
- Identify, develop and manage contractors
- Understand safety, commercial, and capacity risks together with contract administration and supplier management for post-award contract delivery
- Manage relationships with suppliers
- Develop efficient bid tabulations for new and existing commercial awards, and lead sourcing reviews with cross-functional teams
- Bring innovative solutions to maximise value proposition for products and bid opportunities
- Utilise e-sourcing tools effectively to launch inquiries and receive contractor quotations/proposals
- Monitor, communicate, and respond to changing market conditions and business drivers to maximise leverage and minimise risk
- Participate effectively in continuous improvement activities
Candidate Profile for Subcontract Specialist
- Must be fluent in German and English, both written and spoken. Fluency in an additional language is a plus
- Bachelor of Quantity Surveying or Mechanical/Civil Engineering degree is advantageous
- Project experience dealing with Contracts containing VOB/B (Vergabe- und Vertragsordnung für Bauleistungen – Teil B) and HOAI (Die Honorarordnung für Architekten und Ingenieure) is compulsory
- Extensive experience working in an EPC/Oil and Gas company
- Experience in Contract awards, Post-award Management and Contractual language
- Knowledge of SAP and requisition payment processes
- Flexibility to travel to site locations in Germany temporarily or permanently
- Pre-award and post-award contracting skills, including drafting bid documents, awarding contracts, etc.
- Post-award contract management, such as change management, managing back-charges, documentation and claim prevention, etc.
- Knowledge of contract remeasurement with quantity surveying experience for cost/schedule delivery in Post-award contract management
- Possess strong negotiation skills to challenge solid contract arguments and remeasure contracts, such as back-charges for building counterclaims, defence of contractor claims, etc.
